Addovation Change White Paper

Introduction

Addovation Change is a web-based app for IFS Cloud available as a Microsoft Excel Add-in.

Addovation Change Architecture

  1. A manifest used to load the Office add-in.
  2. A frontend sitehosting the logic for the add-in.
  3. A backend sitewhich provides an API that is placed behind an Azure APIM instance.
  4. An Addovation Cloud Portal instance used to manage the subscription-based access.

Requirements

Subscription Requirement

A valid subscription key is required to provide authorized access to Addovation Change Service API

IFS User Access

The users of the add-in will access their IFS instance as themselves. As such, they need to be identified and this is done using the industry standard for identification, OpenID Connect. Ref: https://openid.net/connect/. IFS uses OpenID Connect when authentication is provided via Azure Active Directory. For the add-in, to get the users authenticated and be used when accessing IFS Cloud.
